Nothing quite as unique as walking on the bulkheads when the USS Higbee (DD 806) or the USS Halsey Powell (DD 686) took heavy seas and 37 degree rolls.
Ah, remember the days well! Salt spray in your face, soaking wet at the unrep station. Green water on the bridge, definitely not for the faint of heart!

Good old days and as a CSSN back then it was fun to be in the galley burning the stew. Did not have to many braving it through the chow line.

52 degrees to port in heavy seas trying to evade typhoon was one of the most exciting days of my 65 years on this planet.

I was a tin can sailor 62-66. Saw some heavy seas in that period. Especially a typhoon in Hong Kong area, that was a wild ride.
