Thank you, Chief, for your comments and holiday greetings. BTC Mann was my Chief on the fireroom side…..we both struggled through the complexity of automatic combustion control…..the old man always down on us for “smoking black” when he rang up ahead full…..he was one of the rare birds that came up through the hawsehole as a deck ape and you know how they feel about their pretty grey paint! i’d go back to run the plant tomorrow…..although don’t know if the kids today can be taught anything though!

Love all of your “Tales”.. I was a BT on the USS Jason AR8 from 1966 to 1970. Three West Pacs. Oil King for the last year aboard. {best job) E-5 my 4th year. Many memories and went to a reunion in Branson Missouri in June this year. First one for me and all of my shipmates from the “Holes”. . It was so sweet to see them after all the years apart. Much beer was consumed and the stories we told were so much enjoyed by our Ladies. (Some we could not tell) ha ha…
